Personnel Changes: Courtney Appointed to Head Nationwide’s Newest E&S Brokerage Property Division

Nationwide, based in Columbus, Ohio, has appointed Tonya Courtney to head its new excess and surplus (E&S) brokerage property unit. This unit is set to launch in the second half of the year, aiming to provide specialized insurance solutions for challenging property risks.

Before joining Nationwide, Courtney was the regional vice president at Arch Insurance Company, where she led the E&S property team for the Southeast region. She brings over 30 years of experience in commercial lines insurance to her new role, which she started in December.

The new E&S Brokerage Property unit will focus on creating tailored solutions for hard-to-place property risks across various industries. It aims to offer a wide range of non-admitted wholesale products and services. This will help address high-risk situations that require specialized underwriting skills.

With Courtney at the helm, Nationwide is looking to strengthen its position in the E&S market, catering to clients who need unique coverage options.
