QBE North America has launched a new media liability endorsement aimed at supporting media organizations facing legal challenges. This endorsement is particularly relevant as it addresses issues arising from consumer protection laws that can affect free speech rights under the First Amendment.

Chris Cooper, a senior vice president at QBE North America, emphasized the importance of this coverage for clients who tell stories through various media. He noted that the endorsement is designed to provide these organizations with the confidence to create and share their content without the constant worry of legal repercussions.

As media companies increasingly face lawsuits related to consumer protection and unfair business practices, this new coverage helps them manage financial risks. It can cover legal defense costs and potential losses, giving media organizations a safety net as they navigate these challenges.

In a related development, Travelers has introduced a new product liability coverage called Travelers Synergy, specifically tailored for life sciences companies. This offering is designed to assist firms in the medical technology, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and digital health sectors with the costs associated with product-related claims.

Jennifer Ampulski, who leads the life sciences practice at Travelers, highlighted the need for customized liability coverage to support innovation in healthcare. The Travelers Synergy plan provides protection throughout a product’s development, from research to distribution.

In addition to coverage for bodily injury or property damage, Travelers Synergy includes optional add-ons like errors and omissions liability, product recall expenses, and clinical trial medical expenses. This coverage will be available in most states for policies effective after April 1.

Both QBE and Travelers are responding to the evolving needs of their clients, providing essential support to media organizations and life sciences companies as they face unique challenges in their industries.
