USAA, an insurer dedicated to serving military veterans and their families, is expanding its operations with a new office in Chesapeake, Virginia. This new space will be larger and is intended to support the company’s growing membership and workforce.
The move is set for March 2026, and the new office will be just a five-minute drive from USAA’s current location. Spanning nearly 200,000 square feet, the facility is designed to accommodate USAA’s plans to add 500 new jobs in the area.
Randy Termeer, the president of USAA’s Property and Casualty Insurance Group, expressed excitement about the expansion. He noted that USAA gained one million new members last year, highlighting the need for more space to provide the exceptional service that members expect.
The new office will feature several amenities, including a cafeteria, dining options, a fitness center, and a market. Additionally, it will house a claims technical training center equipped with vehicles for hands-on learning, enhancing employee training and service delivery.
USAA has strong ties to the military community, with 20 military installations nearby. This connection helps the company engage effectively with military personnel, including the 15,000 skilled individuals who transition to civilian life each year.
Founded in 1922 by military officers, USAA provides insurance, banking, and retirement products to 14 million members of the U.S. military and their families. Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, the company operates in eight U.S. cities and three international locations, employing over 38,000 people worldwide.
