Personnel Updates: Chubb Advances Leaders in Surety and Property; WTW Appoints ICT Directors; HDI Global USA Selects Aguiar as Head of Energy & Power Underwriting

Chubb Limited, based in Warren, New Jersey, has made several important leadership changes in its surety and claims businesses. Steve Haney, who has served as vice president and division president of North America surety and chief underwriting officer of global surety, has been named president and chief underwriting officer of global surety. Haney, with nearly 30 years of experience, oversees strategy, underwriting, and profit and loss for Chubb’s global surety operations. He has been with the company since 1997.

Taking over Haney’s previous role as division president of North America surety is Teresa Black. Black, who was executive vice president and chief operating officer of North America surety, now steps up with full oversight and profit and loss responsibility for the region. With 28 years in the insurance field and over two decades at Chubb, Black has held various leadership roles including senior vice president of distribution management and national segment leader for New York.

In addition, Kim Hare has joined Chubb as senior vice president and head of North America property claims, a role she began on August 18. Hare comes from Farmers Insurance, where she was senior vice president in charge of property claims. She brings over 30 years of experience and will lead claims operations for both personal and commercial property across North America. She replaces Tim Barziza, who plans to retire next April after 22 years at Chubb and a 30-year career in the industry.

These changes highlight Chubb’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership in key areas of their surety and property claims businesses. Meanwhile, other companies like WTW and HDI Global USA are also announcing new appointments in insurance consulting and energy underwriting, reflecting a broader trend of leadership updates in the insurance world.
