The California Insurance Wholesalers Association (CIWA) has launched two exciting new initiatives aimed at enhancing the insurance industry. The first, CIWA Women, focuses on empowering women in the property and casualty insurance field. Led by Committee Chair Yana Connors, this initiative has formed an inaugural committee that includes notable industry leaders such as Sarah Sloan from Paragon Insurance Holdings and Elizabeth Mertel from Seneca Insurance Co.
The CIWA Women committee plans to host an in-person event dedicated to personal and professional development. They are also looking into expanding their efforts through virtual workshops, networking events, and mentorship programs. This initiative aims to create a supportive community for women in insurance, encouraging their growth and success.
In addition, CIWA has established an Insurtech Committee to address the rising significance of technology in the insurance sector. This committee will unite insurtech leaders from both the wholesale and carrier sides of the industry. Their goal is to bridge the gap between traditional insurance practices and new technological advancements.
CIWA is a nonprofit organization that focuses on education, advocacy, and the advancement of wholesale insurance professionals and their partners. Through these new initiatives, CIWA aims to foster a more inclusive and innovative environment in the insurance industry, paving the way for future growth and collaboration.
