Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) has recently acquired Arthur Hall Insurance, a well-established insurance agency based in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Although the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, this acquisition marks a significant move for MMA as it expands its reach in the insurance industry. Founded in 1966, Arthur Hall Insurance specializes in providing both commercial and personal lines of insurance. The agency has built a strong reputation, particularly in sectors like life sciences, information management, non-profit organizations, craft beverages, and municipal services.

All employees from Arthur Hall, including President Jim Denham, will join MMA and continue to work from their current offices in West Chester and Wilmington, Delaware. This transition aims to enhance the services offered to clients while maintaining the local expertise that Arthur Hall brings.

In another development, Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc. has acquired AiK2 Insurance Services, a firm based in New Jersey. Following the acquisition, AiK2 will rebrand under the Starkweather & Shepley name. This move combines Starkweather’s extensive resources with AiK2’s financial services expertise, particularly benefiting wealth and asset managers. AiK2’s co-founder, Jay Hummel, will remain with the company in an advisory capacity.

Transatlantic Underwriters (TAU) is also making headlines by launching a new property and casualty division. This new division will offer six additional lines of business, including commercial general liability and builders risk insurance. Bernadette Flores has been appointed as the senior vice president of this division, bringing over 24 years of experience in the insurance sector.

In New York, Ryan Specialty has agreed to acquire certain assets from USQRisk Holdings, a managing general agency focused on nontraditional insurance. This acquisition is expected to generate about $11 million in additional revenue for Ryan Specialty.

In the Midwest, MarshBerry’s FirstChoice has expanded into Minnesota and Arizona, allowing independent insurance agency owners in those states to join its network. Meanwhile, Hadron, an Arkansas-based carrier, plans to acquire The Guarantee Company of North America USA, aiming to enhance its national footprint.

Totalis Program Underwriters has acquired Brownyard MacLean Security Insurance Services, further expanding its specialty insurance offerings. Inszone Insurance Services has also made its second acquisition in Kansas, adding Munson Insurance Agency to its portfolio.

In the Southeast, Novatae Risk Group has acquired Ajax Specialty Insurance, a wholesaler focused on management and professional liability insurance. Higginbotham has expanded its presence by adding agencies in Georgia and Tennessee, while PointeNorth Insurance Group has acquired three agencies in Alabama.

Finally, OneDigital has acquired Fortune Insurance, a property and casualty firm in Tacoma, Washington. This acquisition will allow OneDigital to enhance its property and casualty insurance capabilities and provide more comprehensive services to clients across the Western region.

These acquisitions reflect a trend in the insurance industry where companies are seeking to expand their services and reach by integrating with other firms. This strategy not only helps them grow but also enhances the variety of options available to clients.
