Global cyber insurance provider Coalition has secured a significant $30 million investment from Insurance Co., Ltd. (MSI), part of the MS&AD Insurance Group. This partnership aims to expand Coalition’s innovative “Active Insurance” model to a broader range of businesses around the world.
Based in San Francisco, Coalition offers a unique approach to cyber insurance. Their Active Cyber Insurance combines comprehensive coverage with advanced cybersecurity tools, helping businesses identify, reduce, and respond to cyber threats effectively. This investment not only strengthens Coalition’s financial standing but also allows MSI to increase its presence in various markets as a shareholder.
The new funding builds on an existing partnership between Coalition and MSI, which already includes a multi-year capacity agreement in Australia and collaborative efforts to develop cybersecurity products tailored for small and midsize businesses.
MS&AD is recognized as the largest non-life insurer in Japan and throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Joshua Motta, Coalition’s co-founder and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that it positions the company to scale its Active Insurance model and reinforce its leadership in the cyber insurance sector.
As cyber threats continue to evolve, the need for effective insurance and cybersecurity solutions becomes increasingly vital for businesses of all sizes. With this investment, Coalition is poised to enhance its offerings and support more companies in safeguarding against cyber risks.
