Insurance Companies Advised to Submit Responses to TDI Data Request by July 11

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) is reaching out to insurance companies that provide personal automobile and residential property policies. This effort aims to gather important information for the HelpInsure.com website, which serves as a resource for Texas consumers looking for insurance options.

According to TDI, this initiative is part of their obligation under Insurance Code Section 32.102. The deadline for insurance companies to respond to this data request is July 11, 2025.

To ensure the right companies participate, TDI has specified criteria. Companies must either be among the top 25 national groups with over $1 million in direct written premium in Texas or be part of the same top 25 and work with a nonaffiliated company, such as a county mutual.

TDI will notify the relevant insurance companies via email if they meet these criteria. Companies in the top 25 that are not currently writing new business are required to inform TDI in writing.

This data collection is crucial as it aims to enhance transparency and provide Texas consumers with better information when shopping for insurance. The HelpInsure.com website will help individuals compare options and make informed decisions about their insurance needs.
