Leadership Update: Holmes Murphy Welcomes New Shareholders

Holmes Murphy, an insurance agency based in Waukee, Iowa, recently welcomed 23 new employees as shareholders. These team members earned their shares after finishing the company’s top leadership program, Holmes Murphy University. Becoming a shareholder gives employees a say in the company’s future, helps the business grow, and strengthens the company culture.

The new shareholders come from several offices across the country. In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Stacy Havel joined as a senior client service consultant focused on property casualty. Dallas, Texas, added Hayley Morton and Jeff Skinner, both assistant vice presidents and team leads in employee benefits. Denver, Colorado, welcomed Eric Rothfield, vice president of property casualty, and Kenton Miles, a client executive.

Kansas City, Missouri, saw Andrew Wank and Tanner Smith join as client executives in employee benefits and property casualty, respectively. Minneapolis, Minnesota, had a larger group join, including Abby Zipoy, Annie Bushey, Erin Velo, Michael Roane, Nathan Cassin, and Nick Karls, all covering roles related to employee benefits, claims, or captive strategies.

In Omaha, Nebraska, Kari Barnes stepped up as assistant vice president and team lead for fraternal client services. At the company’s headquarters in Waukee, Iowa, a dozen new shareholders were named. Among them are Amy Tanny, vice president of placement and carrier strategy; Brett Stefani, captive executive; Dave Ashton, chief information officer; Jessica Goode, assistant vice president and team lead; Matt Parmenter, vice president of IT operations; Ross Turner and Thomas Stern, senior client service consultants; along with Ty Flood and Tyler Brick in client executive and finance roles.

By making these employees shareholders, Holmes Murphy aims to keep growing the company while encouraging leadership, teamwork, and a strong workplace culture. The company sees this as a way to bring fresh ideas, develop talent, and ensure that employees feel connected to the company’s success.
