Personnel Changes: Aon Re Appoints Secker as EMEA Chief Client Officer and De Bosini as Chief Broking Officer; ACORD Selects Former IUA CEO Matcham as Digital Markets Ambassador

Two major moves have been made in the insurance world, with Aon and ACORD Solutions Group announcing new key appointments aimed at growth and innovation.

Aon plc has named Andrew Secker as the EMEA chief client officer for Reinsurance Solutions. Secker, who has been with Aon for over 20 years, will focus on improving how the company serves its clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His work will build on the existing strong partnerships between Aon’s offices in the region. Alongside him, Daniele De Bosini has been appointed as the EMEA chief broking officer for Reinsurance Solutions. In his role, De Bosini, who has been part of Aon for four years, will work on linking what clients need with the global reinsurance market and making sure broking teams in the area are aligned with Aon’s overall strategy. Both will report to Tomas Novotny, Aon’s EMEA CEO and international chairman for Reinsurance Solutions. These changes reflect Aon’s plan to boost its presence and growth in the EMEA reinsurance market.

In a separate development, ACORD Solutions Group has brought on board Dave Matcham as its global ambassador for digital markets. Matcham, who recently retired as CEO of the International Underwriting Association, will use his expertise to promote the benefits of standardized data exchange in insurance. His role will help connect key insurance centers around the world more smoothly. ACORD has been pushing for digital standards in the industry, and Matcham’s appointment signals a renewed focus on expanding these efforts. The company has already set up data exchange hubs in places like London, Bermuda, and Dubai, with plans to add Singapore soon. These hubs use ACORD’s Data Exchange Platform to allow brokers, insurers, and reinsurers to work together easily, no matter where they are or how advanced their technology is.

Chris Newman, ACORD Solutions Group’s CEO, praised Matcham’s leadership and said they look forward to working with him to spread the word about the importance of digital data in insurance. Matcham shared his excitement about helping businesses worldwide benefit from these standards and connecting insurance markets on a global scale.

Together, these appointments at Aon and ACORD show a clear focus on growth, client service, and the drive to bring digital solutions into the heart of the insurance industry.
