Marsh McLennan has made significant changes in its leadership for the Energy & Power sector. Amy Barnes has been appointed as the global head of Energy & Power, effective immediately. She will be based in London and reports directly to Andrew George, the president of Marsh Specialty.
In her new role, Barnes will oversee the strategy and innovation of Marsh’s global network of energy and power experts. This includes risk advisors and brokers who help clients manage their risks in these industries. Barnes will also continue her work as the head of Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy at Marsh.
Barnes has been with Marsh since 2001, starting as an environmental consultant. Throughout her career, she has taken on various senior roles, focusing on risk and insurance related to energy transition and sustainability. Before her current position, she led the Energy & Power team for the US and Canada while based in Houston.
Additionally, Marsh announced that Andrew Herring will become the global chair of Energy & Power starting January 1, 2026. Herring has been with Marsh since 2010 and has led the UK Energy & Power team since 2012. He will also remain in London.
Andrew George praised both Barnes and Herring for their extensive experience in the energy and power sector. He believes their leadership will help clients tackle current and future challenges in these areas.
