Zurich North America is making significant changes in its leadership team. Heather Fox has been promoted to lead national accounts, and Peter Caminiti will take on the role of chief underwriting officer. Both changes will take effect on May 15.
Heather Fox was previously the chief underwriting officer for U.S. national accounts. In her new role, she will oversee services for large national and multinational companies. Fox will also join the Zurich North America executive committee and the global commercial insurance leadership team. She joined Zurich in 2023 and has a strong background, having worked as general counsel and chief broking officer at ARC Excess & Surplus, along with various roles at AIG.
Peter Caminiti, who has been with Zurich since 2014, will step into the role of chief underwriting officer after serving as head of underwriting for national accounts. He also briefly held the chief underwriting officer position in an interim capacity. Caminiti will also be a member of the executive committee and the group leadership team.
These promotions come as Paul Lavelle, who previously held the national accounts position, prepares for retirement. Lavelle has been with Zurich for seven years and has a rich history in the industry, having worked at Allstate and AIG. He will stay with the company until June 1 to ensure a smooth transition.
In another recent announcement, Zurich North America hired Bennett Himes from Chubb to lead underwriting for the U.S. middle market, further strengthening its leadership team.
