Ki, the digital insurance platform backed by Lloyd’s of London, has named Jacques Bonneau as its new non-executive chair, starting July 1, 2025. Bonneau, who retired as president and CEO of PartnerRe in March 2024, brings decades of experience in the reinsurance and insurance industry to his new role.
Before leading PartnerRe, Bonneau held senior positions at Chubb, including group chief underwriting officer. He also served as a senior adviser at the Bermuda Monetary Authority and currently holds several non-executive roles with companies such as Brit Re and Novel.
Mark Allan, CEO of Ki, said Bonneau’s deep knowledge of underwriting will be a great asset as the company continues to develop its data-driven and algorithm-powered approach to insurance. Ki uses an entirely digital platform that offers instant follow capacity from multiple Lloyd’s syndicates, including its own Syndicate 1618—the largest start-up in Lloyd’s history.
Ki’s partners include Aspen Digital & Syndicate 4711, Beazley Syndicates 623 and 2623, Travelers Syndicate 5000, and QBE Syndicate 5555. The company operates as a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings and aims to make insurance more accessible and efficient by relying on digital technology and algorithms.
With Bonneau’s leadership, Ki is set to refine its strategy and strengthen its underwriting capabilities, reaching clients and partners anytime and anywhere through its innovative platform. His appointment highlights Ki’s commitment to combining traditional insurance expertise with new technology to create a more modern way to underwrite risk.
