Personnel Update: Texas Mutual Appoints Cogan to Board of Directors

Doug Cogan from Cypress, Texas, has been chosen to join the board of directors at Texas Mutual Insurance Company. His election took place during the company’s recent annual meeting for policyholders. Cogan will serve on the board until 2031, filling the spot left by longtime member Danny Phillips, who served since 2012.

Texas Mutual is known as the state’s top provider of workers’ compensation insurance. Cogan brings a wealth of experience from his career as a partner at PwC, where he worked globally in more than 40 countries. He has helped large companies, including Fortune 250 firms and IPO businesses, in industries like technology, energy, pharmaceuticals, and finance. His focus has been on helping organizations update their technology and simplify big projects.

Aside from his work with Texas Mutual, Cogan advises on artificial intelligence projects and sits on the boards of a private company and a nonprofit. He’s known for working closely with executive teams and directors to keep things running smoothly and reduce risks.

Texas Mutual’s board features leaders from different parts of Texas and various industries. Some directors are picked by the Governor with the Senate’s approval, while others, like Cogan, are elected by policyholders. This mix aims to represent the company’s diverse customer base and the state’s wide range of businesses.
