Personnel Updates: NI Holdings, Inc. Announces New Executive Leadership Appointments

NI Holdings, Inc., based in Fargo, North Dakota, has announced several important changes in its leadership team. These promotions and a new hire reflect the company’s commitment to strengthening its operations in the property and casualty insurance sector.

Kevin Elfstrand has been promoted to senior vice president and chief accounting officer. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, including 17 years at Travelers Companies, he will continue to manage the accounting department and oversee external financial reporting.

Brandon Nicol steps into the role of senior vice president of reinsurance and chief underwriting officer. He has 19 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance, having worked with companies like AmericanAg and State Farm. Nicol will direct the company’s underwriting strategy and reinsurance efforts.

Chris Oen has been elevated to senior vice president and chief claims officer. Oen, who joined NI Holdings in 2007, brings 30 years of experience in the insurance field. He will keep leading the claims department, applying his extensive background to enhance operations.

Dominic Weber has been named senior vice president and chief actuary. With over 42 years in the industry, Weber will continue to oversee the actuarial department, focusing on reserving, ratemaking, and predictive analytics. He previously worked as vice president and chief actuary at Society Insurance.

In a new position, Doug Duncan has been hired as senior vice president and chief information officer. He will lead technology strategy and modernization projects to support the company’s growth. Duncan has more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership, having held positions at Columbia Insurance Group and Swiss Re.
