World Acquires Dunway and Hoosier of Indiana

World Insurance Associates has expanded its reach in Indiana by acquiring two local insurance agencies. On June 1, 2025, the company took over Dunaway Insurance Agency in New Palestine and Hoosier Insurance Agency in Bloomfield. The financial details of the deals were not made public.

Dunaway Insurance has a long history dating back to 1979. In 1994, Doug Todd became the owner, and he now runs the agency with Tina Todd. Doug handles commercial, agricultural, and related personal lines accounts, while Tina focuses on personal insurance products. The other agency, Hoosier Insurance, was founded by Doug’s father in 1990. Doug bought Hoosier in 2005, and it mainly deals with personal lines insurance today.

The deal brought in experienced legal and advisory teams. Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla provided legal support and Fortrust Diligence guided World Insurance Associates through the acquisition. Schwell Wimpfheimer & Associates and Helfer & Associates LLC handled legal and advisory duties for Dunaway and Hoosier.

This move strengthens World Insurance Associates’ presence in the Indiana insurance market by joining forces with two well-established agencies led by a family with deep roots in the business.
