Ames & Gough, a well-known insurance brokerage and risk management consultancy based in Washington, DC, has announced new leadership changes. Thomas Marchetti is stepping into the role of president, taking over from Matthew Gough, who will now serve as the company’s chief executive officer.
Marchetti, who joined Ames & Gough in 2010, brings years of experience to his new position. Before coming to the firm, he worked with a risk management advisory company in New Jersey. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Wagner College. As president, Marchetti will manage the day-to-day operations, including sales, marketing, client service, accounting, human resources, technology, and market relations.
Matthew Gough has been with Ames & Gough since 2001. He previously led the company’s new business development efforts and became president in 2020. Now, as CEO, he will focus on the company’s long-term strategy and future projects while keeping close ties with many of the firm’s biggest clients. Gough will also continue his business development work in the Washington, DC area, Florida, and other regions. He is a University of South Carolina graduate and actively participates in regional industry groups, often running risk management seminars.
