Christyn Yoast appointed as global head of commercial at CFC

Specialist insurer CFC has named Christyn Yoast as its new global head of commercial. She is set to begin in January 2026 and will be based in New York as the company pushes forward with its international growth plans.

CFC is in the middle of a big expansion period, opening new offices and launching new products. The company operates in 90 countries and nearly half of its business comes from the US. CEO Louise O’Shea said that this growth is supported by a $1.7 billion debt refinancing, which helps lower the company’s cost of capital.

Yoast brings a strong background in cyber insurance and digital distribution, having previously served as US President at BOXX Insurance. BOXX itself is undergoing changes after being acquired by Zurich Insurance Group in 2025. Industry experts see her move as part of a larger reshuffling of leaders in the cyber insurance field.

O’Shea praised Yoast for her skills in building partnerships and growing the business. Yoast expressed excitement about working with CFC’s global team to sharpen the company’s commercial approach and boost sustainable growth.

This appointment follows other leadership changes at CFC, including the recent hiring of Nick Line as chief underwriting officer. Line takes over from Matt Taylor, who had served as interim in the role since early 2025.

CFC, known for its focus on emerging risks and cyber insurance, is headquartered in London. Along with New York, it has offices in San Francisco, Austin, Brussels, and Brisbane, and employs over 900 people worldwide. The company is clearly aiming to strengthen its position as it expands across the globe.
