Hanover introduces a digital workers’ compensation solution for agents.

The Hanover Insurance Group has introduced a new digital tool called Workers’ Comp Advantage, aimed at making it easier for independent agents to quote and bind workers’ compensation insurance for small businesses. This launch took place on July 25, 2025, and is part of Hanover’s effort to modernize the small commercial insurance process.

Available on The Agency Place (TAP) Sales platform, Workers’ Comp Advantage allows agents to generate a bindable quote in under two minutes. Remarkably, up to 90% of submissions can be processed automatically for primary business categories, reducing the need for manual intervention.

Charles Hamann, the president and chief underwriting officer for small commercial at Hanover, highlighted how this tool enhances the experience for agents. It streamlines the quoting process, enabling agents to provide faster and more efficient service to their clients.

The platform boasts several features designed to improve usability. It offers a modern interface that integrates seamlessly with existing business owner policy quoting. Agents only need to fill in seven key data points to get started. Additionally, there is adjustable pricing that includes access to insurance credits based on safe workplace practices, tailored to each state. Policy documents can be delivered instantly in a digital format, which supports quick client service.

Workers’ Comp Advantage also includes value-added services like Nurse Triage 24, which provides immediate injury response, and Hanover EZ Pay, a flexible pay-as-you-go billing option.

Initially, this new tool is available in eight states, including Illinois and Virginia, with plans to expand to more states throughout the year. With small businesses representing 99.9% of all U.S. firms, the demand for streamlined access to essential coverages like workers’ comp is growing. Insurers like Hanover are increasingly focusing on improving the digital experience for agents and their clients.

As the insurance industry continues to evolve, the introduction of Workers’ Comp Advantage represents a significant step toward providing better service to small business clients.
