MJ Foundation Selects Four Charities Across the US

The MJ Charitable Foundation, the nonprofit branch of The MJ Companies, has announced four new nonprofit partners for its 2025-2027 Charities of Choice program. These organizations are Indy Reads in Indiana, Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels in Phoenix, We Don’t Waste in Denver, and UpRise Nashville. Each group focuses on pressing local issues, such as literacy, job training, support for families dealing with childhood cancer, and food insecurity.

The MJ Foundation chose these nonprofits because their missions fit well with its key goals: fighting poverty, promoting diversity, advancing education, and embracing humanity. Employees of The MJ Companies nominated and voted for the organizations to be part of the program.

In a statement, Britini Shrout, the foundation’s executive director, said they are excited to support nonprofits that reflect their core values. She highlighted the company’s entry into the Nashville market and expressed enthusiasm about partnering with UpRise Nashville as part of that expansion.

The program offers more than just funding. Each organization will receive $5,000 a year for two years, get media exposure, and a dedicated Day or Days of Service where MJ associates volunteer their time. The nonprofits will also get a media toolkit to help raise awareness about their work.

Besides financial help, the MJ Foundation stresses hands-on involvement. Its associates contribute volunteer hours and resources throughout the year to support the nonprofits.

Indy Reads, a group that works to improve literacy access in marginalized communities, welcomed the partnership at a crucial time. CEO Ruba Marshood noted that public funding for their growth has been uncertain recently, making corporate partners like the MJ Foundation especially important.

These partnerships will last through 2027, as the MJ Foundation continues its mission to make a positive impact in communities across the country.
