Monarch E&S Insurance acquires Market Finders.

Monarch E&S Insurance Services has made a significant move by acquiring Market Finders, a managing general agent and wholesale broker based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This acquisition, announced on June 6, 2025, is part of Monarch’s strategy to collaborate with established regional MGAs and enhance its presence in the Southwest.

Market Finders, founded in 1971, connects clients to over 30 insurance markets, including some that allow for binding authority. The company offers a variety of insurance options, covering both personal and commercial lines, with a particular focus on transportation-related coverage. Steve Shaffer leads the firm and has cultivated strong relationships with retail agents.

Derek Borisoff, CEO of Monarch E&S, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting Market Finders’ long-standing reputation in the MGA community. He noted that the company’s strong underwriting capabilities and established carrier relationships would be valuable assets for Monarch.

Shaffer mentioned that partnering with Monarch was a well-considered decision, as the company understands the independent MGA model and appreciates Market Finders’ history. He believes that this collaboration will provide expanded resources and market access, allowing them to offer a broader range of options to agents while maintaining their commitment to service.

This acquisition follows Monarch’s recent growth initiatives. In 2024, the company acquired Professional Insurance Executives, a Texas-based firm known for its innovative approach and strong client service. Borisoff remarked that bringing Professional Insurance Executives into the Monarch family enriched their portfolio and strengthened key market relationships.

As Monarch E&S continues to expand, this latest acquisition reflects its commitment to enhancing its capabilities and service offerings in the insurance market.
