GEICO has teamed up with Motive, a company that uses artificial intelligence to manage commercial fleets, to help improve driver safety and lower insurance costs for businesses with commercial vehicles. Motive’s platform brings together tools for managing fleets, tracking expenses, monitoring equipment and temperatures, ensuring compliance, and managing workforces—all in one system. This platform will be a key part of GEICO’s DriveEasy Pro telematics program.
Starting soon, new policyholders in certain states who use Motive’s dashcams and telematics devices can get a 10% discount on their premiums. The program will roll out nationwide in 2026, with current customers gaining access later on. Ian White from Motive explained that their focus on driver safety is aimed at making work safer and more efficient. With distracted driving on the rise, having reliable AI technology to help prevent accidents is more important than ever.
Insurance premiums for companies with commercial vehicles have been increasing, partly because there are fewer competitors in the market and higher jury awards in accident cases. GEICO’s Rishi Arora said that partnerships like this one with Motive are key to offering trucking professionals the protection and value they need. By encouraging GEICO customers to use Motive’s safety and fleet management tools, both companies want to make the roads safer.
Motive also revealed it collaborates with over 40 carriers, managing general agents, and captive insurers as part of its wider partnership program. This teamwork shows a growing push within the trucking industry to connect technology with insurance to benefit both drivers and businesses.
