USAA is making a significant move by purchasing a new office building in Chesapeake. The company has acquired a larger space at 1341 Crossways Blvd., which is just a short drive from its current location. This new facility, covering nearly 200,000 square feet, will help USAA expand its operations and is expected to create over 500 new jobs in the next two years.
The decision to relocate is part of USAA’s strategy to enhance its work environment and improve service for its more than 14 million members. Randy Termeer, president of USAA’s property and casualty insurance group, emphasized the importance of having adequate space for employees to provide the high-quality service that members expect. He also noted that USAA welcomed 1 million new members last year, highlighting the company’s growth.
The new office will feature modern amenities aimed at supporting employee well-being and specialized training. Plans include a cafeteria, fitness center, and a market. Additionally, there will be a claims technical training center equipped with vehicles for hands-on learning.
USAA, which is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, operates in eight U.S. cities and three international locations, employing over 38,000 people worldwide. The company is known for its competitive benefits, including health and wellness programs, parental benefits, and retirement matching.
Termeer expressed gratitude for being part of the Chesapeake community and emphasized the company’s commitment to serving military families in the area. The new office is set to open in March 2026, marking an exciting new chapter for USAA as it continues to grow and adapt to the needs of its members.
