AXA XL Reinsurance and Aon have both made key leadership moves in their reinsurance teams, signaling new directions in their aviation and regional operations.
Starting in October, Jennifer Kopf will join AXA XL Reinsurance’s aviation team in Zurich as a senior underwriter. Kopf comes to AXA XL from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, where she also focused on aviation underwriting. She has a broad background and a strong track record of creating innovative strategies to meet client needs. At AXA XL, Kopf will manage a wide range of aviation reinsurance business. Her role includes using advanced tools to assess risks and set prices, as well as growing the company’s aviation market by building strong client relationships. Andre Liebkopf, head of Aviation at AXA XL Reinsurance, expressed enthusiasm about bringing Kopf’s expertise on board as they build their aviation offerings.
Meanwhile, insurance broker Aon has promoted Gerardo Polanco to lead its Iberia Reinsurance team. Polanco, based in Madrid, steps into this new role with over 25 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. Previously, he managed Facultative Reinsurance across several European regions including the Nordics and Benelux. Now, as general manager for Iberia, Polanco will work on improving collaboration across different geographic and business areas. He reports to Tomas Novotny, Aon’s EMEA CEO and chairman of International Reinsurance Solutions. Polanco has been noted for driving innovation in Aon’s reinsurance business in Spain and nearby countries.
These appointments highlight both companies’ efforts to strengthen their teams with experienced leaders. AXA XL is focusing on enhancing its aviation reinsurance business, while Aon is deepening leadership in the Iberian market. Both moves aim to improve client service and expand market presence in their respective areas.
