Recoop Disaster Insurance has named Greg Bailey as its new CEO and Charlie Turri as the company’s CTO. Both bring strong backgrounds in insurance, finance, and technology, aiming to help Recoop grow faster and improve its platform.
Bailey is an experienced entrepreneur. He started and led Rivet Co., a media and consulting company, and Denim, a social media management software firm serving financial and insurance sectors. His past roles include leadership positions at Athene, Pacific Life, and TruStage, plus co-founding Insure.vc. As CEO, Bailey will oversee operations, growth strategies, technology, and distribution at Recoop.
Turri joins with a solid background in tech leadership, having led teams in startups and large financial service companies. He was the CTO at Lenders Cooperative, focusing on modernizing lending and data systems. Turri also held CTO roles at Denim and ITPeopleNetwork and worked in IT leadership at Athene and AIG. At Recoop, he will focus on data and AI, scaling the platform, and automation.
Recoop is based in West Des Moines, Iowa. The company offers a unique disaster insurance product that pays out lump sums, up to $25,000, quickly after a disaster. The new leadership team is expected to push the company forward with fresh ideas and technology improvements.
