Afore Insurance Services, LLC has acquired Salzberg Insurance Agency, a well-established firm based in Norfolk, Virginia. Salzberg has been serving the Hampton Roads business community for 87 years. Although the financial details of the deal were not shared, this move marks a major step for Afore as it expands its presence in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Following the acquisition, Salzberg will become part of Afore’s Mid-Atlantic division. Ralph Soussan, who is a principal at Salzberg, along with the existing staff, will stay on to support clients in Norfolk. They will also benefit from Afore’s broader resources, including access to more insurance carriers, advanced technology, and additional support services.
Afore, headquartered in Georgia, focuses on building a network by acquiring independent insurance agencies. To date, the company has brought over 50 agencies under its umbrella and runs more than 20 offices across the country. Brett D. Balsley, who leads Afore’s Mid-Atlantic division and its regional partner BCA Insurance, said Salzberg is the first of several planned acquisitions in Virginia and nearby states.
This deal not only strengthens Salzberg’s capabilities but also gives Afore a stronger foothold in a key market. Clients in Norfolk will continue to receive local service while tapping into a larger network. For Afore, expanding through partnerships like these supports its goal of growing steadily in the region.
