AXA XL and Fidelis Insurance Group have announced key leadership changes in their UK operations, strengthening their teams as they face an evolving insurance landscape.
Starting November 1, 2025, Sabrina Lahrmann takes over as Head of International Property for AXA XL’s UK and Lloyd’s business. Based in London, Lahrmann brings over 20 years of experience in underwriting and risk management. Before this promotion, she was the underwriting manager for AXA XL’s International Property team in the UK and Lloyd’s, a position she held since May 2024. She joined AXA XL in 2022 after a long career that included roles at AXA UK and Allianz.
In her new role, Lahrmann will lead the strategy for AXA XL’s International Property Retail business in the UK and Lloyd’s market. Ben Kinsella, head of Risk Managed Retail for UK and Lloyd’s, highlighted the growing challenges clients face due to market fluctuations, geopolitical issues, and rising natural disaster losses, which reached $137 billion globally last year. He expressed confidence in Lahrmann’s ability to steer the team through these challenges.
Meanwhile, Fidelis Insurance Group has appointed William Waddell-Dudley as its UK Chief Underwriting Officer. Bringing two decades of experience, Waddell-Dudley recently worked as lead underwriter for Specialty Reinsurance at IQUW, focusing on marine, energy, cyber, and aviation insurance sectors. His career also includes leadership roles at AmTrust at Lloyd’s and Talbot Underwriter, and early underwriting positions at AIG and Hiscox.
Waddell-Dudley will be a key player in shaping Fidelis’s underwriting strategy and innovation in London. He will work alongside the Bermuda and Ireland chief underwriting officers and report directly to the group’s Chief Underwriting Officer, Ian Houston. Houston expressed enthusiasm about Waddell-Dudley joining the team, citing his deep expertise as a valuable asset.
Both AXA XL and Fidelis are positioning themselves with experienced leaders to better support clients amid a challenging insurance market marked by rising risks and changing regulations. These appointments reflect ongoing efforts to adapt and grow in a fast-moving world.
