Argo Group International Holdings has appointed Chris Donahue as its new CEO. This change comes after Donahue joined the company as chief financial officer in November 2023, right when Brookfield Reinsurance finalized its acquisition of Argo Group. Jessica Buss, who was the CEO at that time, is stepping down from her role.
Jonathan Bayer, chair of Argo’s Board of Directors, praised Donahue for his significant contributions to the company. Bayer noted that Donahue has played a key role in shifting Argo’s focus to being a U.S.-based specialty property and casualty insurer. He expressed confidence in the company’s future growth under Donahue’s leadership.
In addition to Donahue’s promotion, David Chan has been named the new CFO. Chan had been serving as Argo’s chief accounting officer since 2022 and has experience in senior roles at companies like AmTrust Financial Services, Moody’s, and PwC.
This leadership change marks a significant moment for Argo Group as it aims to strengthen its market position and pursue new growth opportunities.
