Manufacturer WNA Receives TDI Lone Star Safety Award

WNA, a part of The Novolex organization, has been honored with the Lone Star Safety Award by the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation. This recognition celebrates the company’s strong commitment to keeping its workplace safe and healthy.

Located in Texas, WNA employs 123 people who make plastic stadium cups used all over the country. Both workers and management work closely to create a safety-first environment. They focus on involving employees, encouraging open talks about safety, and always looking for ways to improve.

In addition to the Lone Star Safety Award, WNA also received the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) Award from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in August 2025. Winning both awards shows how seriously the company takes preventing injuries and illnesses at work through good safety practices.

Chris D’Amura, Deputy Commissioner for Workplace Safety at the DWC, praised WNA for weaving safety into everyday work. He said the company’s two awards highlight its leadership and strong dedication to protecting its team.

The Lone Star Safety Program honors Texas businesses with top-notch health and safety efforts. To win, a company must have low injury numbers, no recent deaths at work, and a solid safety record.

WNA’s dual awards underscore their efforts to keep employees safe while producing products used nationwide. It’s clear that at this company, safety is more than a rule – it’s part of the culture.
