The Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance has made several key leadership appointments recently. Angela Nelson, the department director, announced that new leaders have been named for four important roles: Deputy Department Director, General Counsel, Director of Insurance Consumer Affairs, and Director of DCI Administration.
Gina Clark is returning to the department as deputy director. She comes back after working as vice president and head of regulatory affairs at Generali US Branch. In that job, Gina handled government relations, licensing, and regulatory reports across the country.
Josh Willie is the new general counsel for the department. Before this, he provided legal advice to multiple divisions within the department, including administration and consumer affairs. He has also worked as legal counsel for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.
Jeana Thomas will now lead the Insurance Consumer Affairs division. She has spent 23 years at the department and has held various roles, from complaint investigator to acting director. Her experience within consumer affairs gives her a deep understanding of the department’s work.
Brenda Horstman has been chosen as director of DCI administration. She has been acting director since February and has played a key role in managing the department’s budget through this year’s legislative process.
These leadership changes come as the department looks to strengthen its operations and serve Missouri residents effectively. Each new leader brings solid experience and a strong track record to their roles. The appointments mark a fresh step for the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance as it continues its mission to protect consumers and regulate the state’s insurance market.
