Personnel Updates: IQUW Appoints Munich Re’s Gregory as Reinsurance Underwriter; The Fidelis Partnership Names Dlugosch from Swiss Re as Group Head of Aviation

Specialty insurer IQUW and The Fidelis Partnership have both announced important new hires that will strengthen their teams in reinsurance and aviation underwriting.

IQUW has welcomed Alex Gregory as a senior underwriter for their Specialty Reinsurance team in London. Gregory joins from Munich Re Specialty, bringing extensive experience in terrorism and political violence insurance. At IQUW, he will focus on creating new reinsurance solutions by using data insights and strengthening broker relationships. He will report directly to Dan Warburg, head of Reinsurance at IQUW’s London office. IQUW also promoted three other underwriters—Chris Parkes, Gregor Lockhart-Smith, and Sabina Ahmad—to new roles within their Reinsurance team, showing the company’s commitment to developing talent from within. This news comes as Starr announced a deal to acquire IQUW Group, expected to finalize in the first half of 2026 pending approvals.

Meanwhile, The Fidelis Partnership, a managing general underwriter based in Bermuda, has appointed Oliver Dlugosch as its new group head of Aviation. Dlugosch brings more than 25 years of underwriting experience, mostly with Swiss Re, where he held senior roles including head of Aerospace for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. Before that, he worked at GE Insurance Solutions, leading their Aviation Direct Airlines & Manufacturers team. Dlugosch has worked globally—in London, Munich, Zurich, and beyond—and recently wrapped up a two-year term as president of the International Union of Aerospace Insurers. Starting in December and based in London, he will oversee the growth of Fidelis’s aviation and space insurance offerings, reporting to Richard Coulson.

These hires highlight how both IQUW and The Fidelis Partnership are investing in leadership to enhance their specialty insurance and reinsurance services. With the insurance industry facing evolving risks, experienced professionals like Gregory and Dlugosch will be key in helping their companies adapt and grow.
